#japanese #language

Today I learned how to combine nouns in Japanese

Particle の (no)

The particle の (no) is used to connect two nouns.

Function:

  • Shows possession
  • Describes relationships
  • Adds explanation

Formula: Noun1 の Noun2

Explanation: The particle connects two nouns, where Noun1 modifies Noun2.
Noun2 is the main noun, and Noun1 provides additional information about it.

Examples:

  • わたしのほん → my book
  • にほんのくるま → Japanese car
  • がくせいのせんせい → student’s teacher

Positive Sentences:

  • これは わたしのほんです。
    (This is my book)

  • あれは にほんのくるまです。
    (That is a Japanese car)

  • かれは がくせいのせんせいです。
    (He is a student’s teacher)

Summary
