Practiced Japanese Hiragana

#japanese #language

Today I finally had time to write a TIL (Today I Learned). I also continued studying Japanese, focusing mainly on strengthening my memorization of Hiragana characters. To test how much progress I have made, I practiced random character memorization using the website Hoshi Star.

The result was quite satisfying because I managed to achieve a score of 93/104 with 89% accuracy. Although the results are decent, this practice session highlighted several characters that still tend to confuse me.

Hiragana Practice Score 93

The biggest challenge comes from characters that have very subtle visual similarities, such as Nu (ぬ) and Me (め), as well as the group Ne (ね), Re (れ), and Wa (わ). In addition, I still often mix up Sa (さ) and Chi (ち) because their curve directions are opposite.

I also realized that my memory of yōon combinations such as Ja (じゃ), Ju (じゅ), and Jo (じょ) still needs to be reinforced.

My target for tomorrow is to repeat practice more intensively on these “twin-like” characters so that my memorization accuracy can reach a better result.
